Hi, I’m Hannah
Single Mom. Mental Health Advocate. Creator. Grieving Human.
On the 4th of July, 2024 my youngest brother, Kai, passed away in a tragic car accident. Although I am no stranger to grief, the death of a sibling is different than any other type of grief I’ve experienced. I was drowning and knew I needed something to help me through my grief. That’s when pottery came along.
Each piece I create is made with Kai in mind. Creating gives me space to remember and honor him, process this unimaginable loss, and heal from something I never thought I’d have to.
Kai was the better half of all our good times. He was quick with the comebacks and lived to make people smile, but he was also deep and real if you were lucky enough to know that side of him. He was creative and talented, he loved thrifting and sewing and was learning to play the guitar. He made everyone feel welcome and never met a stranger. Kai lived life to the fullest and never wasted a day. He was a great brother and a great uncle. To know him was to love him.
Although you may never have met Kai, my hope for these pieces is that when you see them, you think of how he lived. That they remind you to be genuine and true to who you are, to be kind (but take no shit), and to love deeply. That they remind you to enjoy life, to never take a moment for granted, and to always say I love you.
